The Annual Scottish Philanthropy Innovation & Research Exchange (ASPIRE)
The Annual Scottish Philanthropy Innovation & Research Exchange
Tuesday, 1st August 2017, 10-13h Centre for the Study of Philanthropy & Public Good, School of Management, The Gateway, St Andrews
With philanthropy facing more turbulent times ahead – from ongoing pressures on civil society, to changing social and political expectations of philanthropy, and the impact of Brexit on the work of funders and grantmakers – the question arises as to what opportunities do more engaged approaches to philanthropy present? To this end, this roundtable brings together a select number of foundation representatives, philanthropy stakeholders and academics with the aim to:
map, explore and exchange national and international experiences with different practices and models of engaged philanthropy (e.g. Funders/Grants Plus, Engaged Philanthropy framework, Responsive Funder approach, etc.),
develop dialogue on the opportunities and challenges that engaged philanthropy presents,
identify current and future knowledge, practice and research needs in the area of engaged philanthropy, and identify steps on how these can be addressed.
Please note that to allow for proper discussion, this is an invitation only event and places are strictly limited.
